Trina spoke highly of Lil Wayne and Missy Elliott while chatting with them Hip Hop Dx in a recently published interview at One Music Fest in Atlanta. Although their engagement fell through in the 2000s, Trina still admires Wayne, describing him to the media as one of the “greats.” As for Missy Elliott, she explains that she is one of the “top” female artists.
“Just like when Wayne first started creating, he’s always been a different kind of artist,” Trina said. “He’s very passionate and very consistent. His voice, his voice, is unlike any other artist – any other male rapper in the game. His hunger showed from a very young age. I just watched He grew up into Little Wayne — from baby Wayne to firefighter and on and on. And that’s a good thing because he’s a great person and a great artist. He’s one of the greats.”

As for who else deserves flowers, Trina went with Missy Elliott. “I always give a shout-out to Missy Elliott because she’s one of the top women of our generation,” she said. “I mean, in addition to being a rapper, as an artist, as a writer, as a producer, she’s been responsible for Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, some of the world’s Works created by big stars, the list goes on and on. Being a woman rising up in that era, being a super powerful woman among artists and pioneers, it’s just one of those things. It speaks for itself. You can watch Everything she does, whether it’s music, production, concerts/shows, etc. It’s going to be phenomenal.”
