Rappers and their chains go way back, and competition to see who can get the flashiest jewelry is often fierce. Future himself is no stranger to luxury chains, but he may have stepped up his game recently. The Atlanta rapper took to his Instagram Story to show off the six new stores he’s branded. Like much of what he posts online, fans mostly responded with jokes.
“He’s too old to buy a chain store,” was one of the top comments retweeting the video’s joke. Most of the other jokes were about Royal Boston Ridge, one of the brand’s signees. Earlier this year, Boston was called out by Roddy Ricch, who claimed that Future had cut him off from the brand. “Know Boston Ridge doesn’t have one,” and “He’s trying to get a new FBG chain because Boston Ridge whistleblowers are still rocking the old one,” two other top comments read. Future’s new Freebandz chain
Metro Boomin has been teasing their upcoming collaborative album with Future all year. In fact, he’s released the trailer to fans so many times that it’s become a running joke. Metro himself even got in on the joke, seemingly in good faith. Metro has been very busy this year, so fans probably wouldn’t be too upset about the album’s lack of a release date if it weren’t for the constant teasing.
Part of the delay may have to do with Metro losing some of the beats he made for the project. He tweeted about a power outage that caused him to lose an entire course workload. When a fan asked him what he was working on, he confirmed it was his album with Future. What do you think of Future’s new Freebandz chain? Which label artists and affiliates do you think will end up getting them? Let us know in the comments section below.
