What is your earliest hip-hop memory?
I sat in my room and wrote down 2pac lyrics so I could memorize them and rap along.
What sets you apart from other hip-hop artists in the music industry today?
What sets me apart is that I saw the vision for the album months before it was finished. I know what sounds, themes and directions I’m going for before I start recording.
When did you realize rap was for you?
I started writing my own songs when I was 15 and a freshman in high school.
Chill Will sang it in a makeshift studio recording in his dorm room after college football practice! They started calling me “malicious” and then started calling me “cold willed” because of my laid back demeanor. Da Don comes from the famous Houston SUC rapper legend Lil Keke “Da Don”, my brother called me Don because of the movie The Godfather.
Has Corona Visus interfered with promoting your music?
In fact, this virus has made me work harder to record music. No shows, no tours, just straight up rapping! This is a sport!
What do you hope new listeners take away from your new album, Evolution II?
Hip hop and real music are not dead!
