“I loved singing and I’ve been singing ever since.”

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County singer is playing Music City.

Belle Frantz, 20, moved from Tiktok to Tennessee after she landed a recording deal with a major label.

WCBI sat down with the local artist to talk about her musical journey and some of the inspiration she encountered along the way.

Belle Frantz will tell you she grew up listening to classic country pop songs with her grandfather, but it wasn’t until she received his CD collection that she learned singing was her passion.

“I got hooked on singing and I’ve been singing ever since, but it wasn’t until I was 17 or 18 that I started singing in front of people,” Franz said.

Eventually, the singer decided it was time to turn her hobby into a career and began performing throughout the South.

She also uses social media to expand her audience.

“The more content I posted, the bigger my audience grew. As my followers grew, I made a video of myself singing Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” and after that, some record labels started contacting me. managers and publishing companies,” Franz said.

In November, Franz signed a record deal with Nashville-based Universal Music Group and met her longtime inspiration.

“It was crazy. The first person I met – the first record label was Universal. They buttered me up. They asked me to meet Reba McEntire at the Grand Ole Opry. That was my first It was crazy to come to the Opry once and see her backstage. I met her for about 10 minutes and I walked in and just cried,” Franz said.

While she still has a long way to go, she’s excited for people to “turn on the radio.”

“It usually takes five or 10 years to get a record deal. I still have a lot of work to do, but it’s not just me getting it. I still have to put in a lot of work and I’m excited and ready for it,” Franz said.

Franz said her next step is to write enough songs to release an album.
