Dame Dash has been making a number of appearances on podcasts and interviews recently. The main reason is that he gives a ton of insight, or at least so-called insight, into important moments in rap history. Many of these songs revolve around Jay-Z, leading some fans to joke that talking about Hov is the only reason people stop listening to Dame. But in another recent interview, he revealed his role in leading Jay-Z in his iconic battle with DMX.
In the interview, he talked about how some people in his life mocked him and Jay-Z for how they dressed. He went on to explain how bad feelings between different groups grew and eventually spread. He ends the story with an incident at a pool hall involving the Rough Riders, which he sees as the beginning of DMX and Jay-Z’s problems. But in responses to the interview, many fans raised some questions about his story. Check out the full interview below.

Dame Dash’s Latest Jay-Z Story
In the comments, fans didn’t entirely agree with Dame’s recollection. “The crazy thing about this is. If you watch the Backstage DVD, Dane said that when he first went online with Jay, he thought he was a Harlem nigga because of the way he dressed. Now suddenly nigga Reading you because he dresses interestingly. At this point, Mrs. is doing more damage to his legacy than good,” read one particularly insightful comment.
Other comments agree. “Lady gotta let it go man,” and “Mance is using the Hov name for a world tour lol,” read two other comments. They don’t exaggerate either. Dame has been commenting on Jay-Z all year, talking about his feud with Nas and even claiming he played a role in Jay’s rise as a rapper.
