In a recent podcast, Adam22 and Wack 100 shared their thoughts on West Coast hip-hop and who they think has been its driving force over the past decade or so. According to Adam, the ruler Drake took the cake for him, but Wack seemed to disagree. The two of them went back and forth, with Adam pointing out how many other major artists were inspired by Drakeo.
“Drakeo is probably the most influential West Coast artist of the last decade,” Adam explains. “But he completely turned all the West Coast voices on their head.” Wack 100 then joined in to object to Adam’s claims, adding Roddy Ricch and Blueface into the debate. “Drecco doesn’t have more plaques than Blue Face,” he said. “Without Drakeo, you don’t get blueface,” No jumpers The host defended. “Blueface’s process was inspired by Drakeo. Sorry, I’m just saying.”

Adam then listed some other artists he believed were influenced by Drakeo The Ruler, including X4, Shoreline Mafia, etc. “His flow was so influential that people didn’t believe in his influence because they couldn’t see it because it permeated all rap,” he described. Wack continued to protest, refusing to say that the X4 was inspired by Drakeo. However, according to Adam, Drake himself admitted this because he was “Drake’s student.”
