In terms of style, Lato faces accusations of “stealing” clothing ideas from Ice Spice and other rap stars. However, when it comes to her collaboration choices, the Atlanta-based lyricist is known for choosing unique names and helping them rise to fame. Off her 2023 debut album, she invited LU KALA to join her on the Dr. Luke-produced “Lottery,” and we later heard her vocals on Mello Buckzz’s “Boom Pt. 2.” Arguably her biggest collaboration of the year is “Put It On Da Floor Again” with Cardi B. Her recent collaboration with Luh Tyler, “The Grinch Freestyle,” helps set the holiday mood.
Before we head into 2024, hip-hop leaders have a special request for Latto — and she’s not so kind about it. “@latto girl we love you but you need to stop working with these unknown artists,” one Twitter fan account wrote to the blonde beauty earlier this week. “Enough is enough, as fans we want to see you win, but that doesn’t get you anywhere. The Latto feature is losing its value. No more BabyDrills, Luh Tylers…” they added.

“You all have gone above and beyond,” the “Wheelie” hitmaker wrote after seeing the OP. “Shawty from down south, she’s so hard on (all of this) (fuck, I don’t care),” Latto continued, seemingly supporting Anycia, who she will soon be collaborating with. “I’m a former ‘unknown artist’ and mfs is too big for me. Live streaming when we drop 🤓.”
