As one of the top MCs in Memphis right now, Key Glock is slowly becoming the first name spoken when it comes to the best trap artists working today. However, the depth behind the name has a rather interesting backstory, and it just recently received a sad but glorious set of new backgrounds. In addition, he recently took to Twitter on Wednesday (December 27) to mourn the death of Gaston Glock, the founder of Glock Firearms and the engineer who designed its products. The Tennessee rapper took to the social media platform to express “RIP UNK,” a succinct but still nod to the underappreciated impact of his career trajectory.

In addition, he has used the name “Glock” in many promotions and branding, such as his recent album Glock MA2. But Ky Glock has previously explained that his artist name stems from the nickname he got when he came to Memphis. So there may be a more direct reason why he made a career out of that name, and whether he had a special love for Glocks. Still, the Paper Route hitmaker has never been too specific about the name’s origins, so there’s plenty to reveal if he so chooses.

Elsewhere on social media, he also had to respond to some rather bizarre and worrying accusations about backstage behavior. For those unaware, one fan claimed they found a note during the “meet and greet” segment of a recent show that read, “If you don’t fuck or suck, please leave!” When When the “F**k A Feature” troll heard about this, he claimed that he was not responsible for it even if it happened in the first place, and seemed very annoyed by this assumption. “Key Glock ain’t bullshit,” he tweeted in response to the rumors circulating online.

In the meantime, we hope the 26-year-old continues to have great career success in 2024, just as he had a killer 2023. After all, whether it’s through his impromptu remix of Bad Bunny’s “MONACO” or his own solo work, he’s proven that he’s one of the best on the mainstream circuit right now. Hopefully this is a continued upward trend. For more news and updates about Key Glock, stay tuned HNH.
