The Auburn Tigers and Maryland Terrapins will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, on December 30 for the 26th annual TransPerfect Music City Bowl. These two teams have met three times in the past, with Auburn leading the series 2-1, the last meeting being in 1983.
Auburn will make its 47th bowl appearance and third appearance in the Music City Bowl under first-year head coach Hugh Freeze. It wasn’t the season the Tigers had hoped for, finishing with a 6-6 record.
The Terrapins, meanwhile, will be led by senior quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, the brother of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The latter finished the season with 3,307 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Tagovailoa also earned the title as the Big Ten’s all-time passing yardage leader and was named Polynesian College Football’s Offensive Player of the Year.
