Margate City’s Sunset Sound event returns on Saturday 6th January, featuring an East German band.
The live music event will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the indoor venue of the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road. Admission is free.
GDR is a 6-piece band based in South Florida that performs covers of iconic rock songs from the ’70s and ’80s. Together with their three lead singers, they performed hits from artists such as Heart, Journey and Queen.
The band members are experienced musicians who have performed in national tours and tribute bands. Although newly formed, East Germany has already made its mark at prestigious venues such as the Wellington Open Air Theater and the City of the Sun Concert Series, earning a reputation for awe-inspiring live performances.
Those planning to attend Sunset Sounds are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to help keep themselves comfortable and enjoy an evening filled with song, dancing, and delicious food.
As with past Sunset Sound events, there will be a variety of food trucks on site offering delicious snacks, meals and desserts.
