What is your name? Which city do you represent?

Anthony D, Minneapolis

Tell us about your latest releases and what inspired you to create them?

The latest release is called “Robin Hood” and this is our fifth year making our annual Christmas music video that represents my city! Christmas is my jam…why not celebrate with some magical Anthony D style 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is unique about you and your music?

What makes my music unique? I’m not here for the world…I’m here for myself. This is indeed my expensive treatment.

What shapes your music?

My music keeps evolving…it creates energy…every song I make represents a chapter in my life or how I’m feeling at the moment.

When did you realize you wanted to make music professionally?

I’ve loved making music since I was 14 or 15 years old, and once I started building on that, I knew it would never stop. What’s saving my music is my diverse line-up of legends…and you’ll understand once the new album drops #TheHitList

What type of music do you listen to?

I always listened to anything, anything, as long as it was good music…music that made you feel a certain type of way…I didn’t care if it was country, bluegrass, hip hop, east coast , West Coast, jazz, or classical… I can enjoy good music at any time.

What inspires you to make music?

A lot of my inspiration came from the concept of the film. Having a professional video company can open the door to just about anything. It inspired me to realize that when you’re so far out of left field, there can’t be any competition.

What do you do when you’re not doing music (creative or otherwise) but something you’re passionate about?

When I’m not making music, I’m filming or editing…I own a film company called Magic Film Maker, a record label called Magic Music, and a non-profit called RockTheCities…For me, Filming is all about the money. Music is my labor of love.

The happiness for you is…

My happiness is being able to do the things I love with the people I love.

What do you wish someone had told you when you first started making music that you think would be helpful to artists just starting out?

If I were to hit them with some game, I would say “If you’re doing it for the money, don’t bother making music…” If you’re not doing it because it feeds your soul, there’s no point.”

Tell us about your upcoming projects…

My next big project is called #TheHitList and this album is where I give props and roses to some of my favorite living legends.

Is there anything else you would like to say to readers at the end?

Let’s create some magic🎩🪄💫
